The u3a Quiz Group meets in the Lounge Bar at the "Malthouse Club" on High Street, Syston (formerly the Conservative Club). We're a friendly, informal bunch of happy quizz'ers - some more happy than others depending on who's won and what the earth shattering prizes are...!
It's a low key, technology free evening, no loud bangs, and no University Challenge type questions. We can't guarantee it but we generally have fun and at the same time keep the old grey matter active - as the u3a prescribes : "Learn Laugh Live" but in any quantity or combination.
The format is 6 rounds of 10 questions ranging across the world of general knowledge including, but not exclusively topics such as "Where in the World", "Who wrote....?", "Who Said...?", "A Mixed Bag", "Sport " (but maybe not as you know it) and "The Answers All Start with the Same Letter"..... etc.
We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (dates below) from 7.30 till around 9.30, and you'll be more than welcome if you do want to come along and join us. That said, quiz nights are well attended and the capacity of the room is near to full so if you'd like to join us please get in touch with me first. We don't want to disappoint by turning people away but we do need to seat you and we limit the numbers to 4 per table.
The cost is £1 each and that covers the prizes for the winners and runners up. The only rules are (1) we will have a bit of fun while brains are searched to find the answers, (2) the Quizmaster's decision is final, and (3) the Quizmaster is right even when he's wrong. All questions and answers are verified by carefully selected and upstanding Members of the Community.... (as if, but not all the rules are kept to all of the time, but that keeps the punters on their toes eh...).

January 13th February 10th March 10th April 14th May 12th June 9th
July 14th August 11th September 8th October 13th November 10th December 8th
